We were very pleased to have the opportunity for Apolo to come and live with us for a year. Apolo's pedigree combines the American lines of "EJ" where we began with the very successful lines of "Magik Rainbow" from Russia. 5 Generations back is our own boy "Shooter" so it has come full circle in a very international way.
The other benefit is that Apolo is considered a Kanichen or Rabbit sized dachshund, in Europe where they have three sizes and the kanichen is the smallest and able to work in rabbit holes. Generally they weigh between 6-9 lbs. with a chest circumference of 30 cm or less.
In the short time Apolo was with us he achieved his Canadian Grand Championship. He was just hitting his stride with 4 straight Hound Group wins when he had to go back to Spain finishing 2018 as the Number Three Mini Wire. In the US he took the Variety 3 times from the classes and his first major under Michael Faulkner. He also won two owner-handled group placements.

Benjamin Button is owned by veterinarian Teresa Cook in Saskatoon. Originally she asked for a female puppy but wanted something of quality that perhaps would be shown. Along comes Ben!
Ben's first attempts in the ring netted him multiple Best Puppy In Show wins. and even a few Group Placements. Another year of maturity in a handful of shows in an area where they can be quite sparse find him now winning groups and Reserve Best In Show under Gunnar Nymann of Denmark. Many thanks to the talented handlers/groomers Trina Neil and Connie Krohn who allowed his potential to shine.

Simon was purchased by Sheri Kuncaitis as a puppy and had a blast having him shown mostly by junior handlers who adored him. His biggest fan was Hailey Rex shown with him to the left.
Simon was the Number 2 Mini Wire in 2016 but was in the Top Twenty for 6 years.
Sheri was also the proud owner of two other Prelude girls, Poppy and Crumpet. Sheri passed away in 2019 and Simon and Poppy returned home to Prelude while Crumpet remained with Sheri's son. We are hoping to use Simon in our breeding program and make Sheri proud of the next generation.

Bandit was such a cool young dog. His first weekend out netted him 3 Best Of Breeds and a Best In Specialty under breeder judge Andra O'Connel. He had a ton of potential and love to give and the opportunity to live with Jenny Martin of Timberblac Flat Coat Retrievers in New York came along and a life long bond was made. Jenny now entered the ring again and didn't need to run to show off a dachshund. She has had the breed along side her Flat Coats ever since. Bandit always enjoyed coming back for a visit and meeting a new girl friend.

Yes, we have a few smooths too! This fine dog was an excellent example of the breed but since our direction was Wire we sold him to Joanne and Darryl Hurst of NY. Zack was a litter mate to Shooter.
